Assessment workshops are available throughout the year synchronously and asynchronously to support the work you are doing with the assessment of student learning. Synchronous workshops are based on principles of engaged learning, so you can expect many opportunities during any workshop to interact with your colleagues! While you can expect a lot of content delivery, our workshops emphasize discussion, small-group interaction, and active learning. Assessment workshop topics are based on elements of the “Assessment Loop.”
Introduction to Assessment Workshops
All participants are expected to attend an online Introduction to Assessment Workshop at their home institution. Below is the link to the online module:

Workshop Levels
The Assessment Certificate Program offers two different levels of workshops. Look for the badges to indicate the level of upcoming workshops!
Beginner
These workshops will assume participants have limited knowledge about the topics being presented and have not had significant opportunities to develop/practice skills related to the workshop topics. These workshops are designed to develop introductory knowledge of the topics and give participants opportunities to begin developing skills through activities related to the workshop topics.
Intermediate
These workshops will assume participants have some existing knowledge and skills related to assessment. These workshops are designed to further hone the participants’ existing knowledge and give participants opportunities to build on existing skills through activities related to the workshop topics.
Available Asynchronous Workshops
Below is information about asynchronous online modules created to provide the same content from our live workshops in online format participants can complete on their own. In order to receive workshop credit, the entire module must be completed. This includes watching all of the videos and providing thoughtful responses to the reflection activities through the module. Participants will receive a confirmation email with their reflection activity responses after completing the module.
